Aileen Hughes

Hair is my passion. It always has been.

For the past 27 years I have been so lucky to be able to work every day doing what I love.

I began my training in Dungannon South West College where I gained City&Guilds level 2 and advanced hair and beauty level 3. I continued to study in Dublin at The Wella Academy and achieved The Advanced Colour Award becoming a Colour Expert.

The journey of self employment began in 1996 when I became the proprietor of Sophistacut Salon on Thomas Street Dungannon. Due to the growth of the business I later relocated to a larger premises at Curran House in 2007 and since then the business has continued to grow and flourish.

My continual professional development is so important to me.  

My staff and I continually attend courses held by GHD, L'Oréal, Alfaparf Milano, Lable m and Paul Mitchell. This helps us to ensure that we achieve excellent customer service.

Hard work and determination over the years has now resulted in Sophistacut becoming one of the best salons with the best trained staff in Northern Ireland.

Growing a business is hard and it wouldn't have been possible without the constant support of my amazing husband and three children.

The future for Sophistacut is so exciting with the launch into the online world. Who knows what the next few years will bring.
